Apple leaks a dual-port 35W Power Adapter

According to a support article briefly posted to Apple's website, the company may soon produce a new USB-C wall charger featuring at least two ports.

Users may insert a USB-C cable into "either port on the power adapter," according to the support page, which described a new Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter. The adapter also has extendable prongs, similar to Apple's current wall plugs, according to the report.

The support article was quickly removed after being published, according to 9to5Mac, which first noticed it.

A 35W charger would be able to charge many gadgets at the same time, including iPhones and Apple Watches. The charger may also support USB-C Power Delivery, according to the support page.

Apple is said to be working on more efficient GaN-based power adapters, which are expected to be released in 2022. GaN power adapters are a smaller, more power efficient, and less heat conductive alternative to standard silicon-based power adapters.

Of course, it's unclear whether the power adapter indicated in the support article will be GaN-based – the paper made no such claims. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, however, predicted that the first of Apple's GaN-based chargers will be "around 30W" in 2022 in a March prediction.
